Food Reflection
I decided to do a painting to represent my idea for the Food Project. I chose painting because I had only ever painted once, and I had really enjoyed it and I wanted to used my skill more. I made the skeleton pop out more because I used lighter and brighter colors for the dress and darker colors for the background. I got my point across by having the skeleton have a sash that said "Winner" and she had been wearing a pageant crown. The stage had 3D curtains because I used gesso to give it a new feel and a texture. If I could redo this project, I would of gotten a smaller canvas because I had too much space to use.

My Book Cover
* What makes for an engaging book cover?
An engaging book cover needs to have colors, needs to look organized and catches the readers eye. My book cover has a bright red against a black background, so it's contrasting. Also the title, "I Promise Not To Hurt You," the creepy font makes you want to figure out what was being promised. I believe that the whole cover isn't busy, but organized in a way. I only used two colors, and they worked well together. If I had used different colors then the feeling would have been different. *How and Why is art used as a vehicle for communication? Art is used for communication to get through to people who speak a different language. We use art to figure what happened in the past, and that's how we figured out what has happened. People have looked at the cave drawings and found out what happened. *To what extent does a work of art depend on the viewer's point of viewer? It all depends on the the background of the person or the background information. If they know more about the artist than they will understand what it meant. If they had seen the piece before or read about it, then their view will change. **** Click here for full story |
Teacher-Animal Poster Project...
For this picture, you had to take a teacher, who you knew, and turned them into an animal. I chose Effie and made her into a dragon, because she loves playing Dungeons and Dragons. I also added Slenderman and a flying fish to include some pizzaz! I had a lot of fun turning her into a dragon. I couldn't do her whole face, but I did her eyes, hair, and scarf.

Name Project...
This was our first project in our class. We had gone outside and found the letters in our name from nature. You had to take all the pictures yourself, and then edit them to fit your canvas. I had to make many different copies to decide what I had chosen for the final project. For this project, we were learning how to select and feather simple pictures.
