For this project, it was to write a short children’s story that we would then read to small children in school. The catch for the book was that it had to be about a Spanish speaking country in central or southern America. It wasn’t too difficult in the beginning to choose your country, but then Dave made us fill out three or four sheets of information on that country. Finally, we got our books and feed-back from Dave about our story. We then had around two weeks to finish our books with bright color, large text and easily understandable words. The days that were leading up to the exhibition were just to prep us on how to read the story and interact with the kids. The exhibition came, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
For me, personally, I was super excited about writing a book for little kids and reading it to them, but as the work-time continued on, I regretted getting the larger book. When I had signed up for the large book, I was thinking that I could have more space to draw and all that stuff. But when I got the book, I realized that it was as big as it was. I also wish that I had spent more time on the drawings instead of just procrastination. But now I have learned that I can’t just think of an amazing project and not put my full 100% Spanish percent into it. But I’ve also had a few things going on that distracted me. But in the end, it was a great project and I’m glad that I was able to par-take in it. |
